What is Sound Healing and what are its benefits?

INTRODUCTION:

Sound healing which is also known as sound therapy is a type of healing that uses different vibrational frequencies to heal the body, mind, and spirit. For more than thousands of years, sound therapy has been a popular therapeutic technique in many different cultures and traditions.

HOW DOES SOUND HEALING WORK?

Sound healing involves different instruments that are used to create rhythmic sounds in order to facilitate shifts in our brainwaves. These instruments include singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, etc. We can entrain our brainwaves with rhythm and frequency, which enables us to lower our normal beta state (normal waking awareness) to alpha, and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).

During sound healing therapy, the clients are asked to lie down comfortably, close their eyes, and focus on their breathing for a while. By doing so, they get into the receptive mode and become the receiver of sound. The practitioner then begins to use sound healing instruments to create different vibrations and frequencies to stimulate the healing process of the patient’s body by stabilizing the brainwaves.

The most commonly used sound healing tools are singing bowls and tuning forks.

RECEIVING THE SOUND HEALING SESSION FROM YOUR PRACTITIONER:

Sound healing is a very powerful therapy that you can use to heal your body, mind, and spirit. As you are a vibrational being, you must maintain an equilibrium in your vibration in order to keep yourself happy and healthy. Sound healing therapy plays a very vital role in removing all energy blockages from your body and mind.

For example, if you are suffering from a painful headache you can easily relieve it through sound healing therapy by sitting or lying down in a quiet place and starting deep breathing, and getting yourself into a receptive mode. Let your sound healing practitioner use the tools to generate a soothing and rhythmic sound. As the healing sound is being produced, gently bring your attention towards the sound and imagine the powerful healing frequencies of the sounds entering into your mind and opening all the mental blockages. Feel the powerful healing vibrations entering your head and releasing all the pain and stress from it.

Keep feeling that way for at least 5 minutes until your head feels lighter. You may begin to feel relief in your head and deeper calmness in your mind. Once the session is over you will feel completely relaxed and calm inside and you came to know that all your headache and pain is now completely alleviated.

You can also use sound healing therapy at your home to heal and maintain a vibrational balance in your body by listening to binaural beats of different brain waves and frequencies on your phone using earphones or you can also use singling bowls or related instruments to focus on their steady sounds and to keep up mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
